Short GAPS Diet Consultation

lumennatura-gaps-diet

If you just have a quick question or two, get a “short” follow-up GAPS™ diet consultation. Any consultation less than 30 minutes is “short”.

As you progress through the diet and add in new foods, you may experience unexpected reactions and require the occasional short follow-up to address these matters.

You can also book a full 1 hour consultation, or longer follow-up consultations of 30 minutes or 45 minutes. Diet consultation sessions can be in person or over Skype video chat.

About the GAPS Diet

GAPS stands for Gut and Psychology Syndrome or Gut and Physiology Syndrome. It's a food protocol developed by Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride designed to heal and seal the gut. GAPS removes all starches, processed foods and sugar from your diet, while adding probiotic rich foods with broth as a basic staple.

The GAPS diet is based on the SCD -- Specific Carbohydrate Diet. SCD was developed by Dr. Sydney Valentine Haas as a treatment for celiac disease and other digestive disorders. In addition to becoming widely accepted as a cure for celiac disease, SCD has been used to treat Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, chronic diarrhoea, and other digestive disorders. Unexpectedly, SCD also showed remarkable results in the treatment of several psychological problems.

The GAPS diet evolved over years of use of SCD by Dr. Campbell McBride to treat learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, bi-polar disorder, other psychological disorders, as well as immune and digestive problems.

It can be very challenging to go on the GAPS diet. It's not always obvious which foods are OK and which aren't. Making your own broths from scratch and cooking food under some of the restrictions of the diet can be quite time consuming. We can help you with questions about food and even provide tasty recipes and tips for GAPS friendly cooking.
